It’s also the only one that still makes whiskey by hand–which means there are no machines involved in any part of the process. The distillery itself dates back to 1608 when King James I granted Hugh Anderson a license to distill. Today you can tour both the distillery and its museum (which includes artifacts from as early as 1608), but if you just want a taste of what goes into making their signature product, we’ve got some options for where you can buy and enjoy Bushmills Irish Whiskey! Bushmills Irish Whiskey History Bushmills Irish Whiskey is a product of Bushmills Distillery in the town of Bushmills in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The distillery was founded by Hugh Anderson in 1608 and has been operated by his descendants ever since. In 2015, Bushmills produced over 4 million gallons of whiskey at their distillery (the largest amount ever!). It’s no surprise that this Irish whiskey brand has become one of the most popular whiskeys around; you can find it sold all over the world!
