Tom Brady could break a major NFL record

Рекомендуемые сообщения

Over the course of his 21-year career, has basically rewritten the record book. The quarterback holds dozens of records and he could add one more on Thursday, although this is probably a record he would rather not be adding to his rsum.If Brady gets sacked four times against the , he'll tie the NFL record for the most times that a quarterback has ever been sacked. The record, which has stood for 11 seasons, is currently held by Brett Favre, who was sacked 525 times during his 20-year career. The sack record is one that doesn't get broken that often. Before Favre, the record was held by John Elway for 12 years. During his 16-year career in Denver (1983 Gary Payton II Jersey -1998), the former quarterback was sacked a total of 516 times. The one thing about this record, though, is that it's one that comes with longevity. If you play in the NFL for a long time, you're going to get sacked a lot. Of the 17 quarterbacks in NFL history who Washington Wizards Hats have been sacked 400 or more times in their career, 15 of them had a career that spanned at least 15 years. Only Drew Bledsoe (sacked 467 times in 14 years) and (sacked 410 times in 13 seasons) have hit the 400-sack mark in fewer than 15 seasons. The one upside for Brady is that he might not set the record this week. To set the record, he would have to be sacked five times and there wasn't a single game in 2020 where he was sacked more than three times, so the more likely scenario is that Brady breaks Favre's record at Raul Neto Jersey some point in the first month of the season (Brady didn't get sacked for the fifth time until Week 3 last year). If the Buccaneers' offensive line can hold keep Brady upright through the first three weeks of the season, it would almost be fitting if the 44-year-old ended up taking his record-breaking 525th sack in Week 4 in his return to New England. Bill Belichick would probably love that. Although Brady has the inside track to break the record first, there is one active player who could beat him to the punch: .The Troy Brown Jersey quarterback has taken a total of 516 sacks in his career, which means if he gets sacked nine times before Brady takes five sacks this year, then Big Ben will break the record first. Although Roethlisberger has taken a lot of sacks over the years, he was only sacked 13 times last year and he didn't take his ninth sack until Week 8, so the more likely scenario is that Brady breaks the record first. Also, with Roethlisberger contemplating retirement after this season, there's a good chance Brady will end up holding the sack record for the rest of time... or until catches him. At the rate he's going, there's a good chance Wilson is going to end up as the most sacked quarterback of Rui Hachimura Jersey all-time. The signal caller has been sacked 394 times in nine seasons, which would put him on pace to take more than 600 sacks if he ends up playing JUST 14 YEARS in the NFL (If he played 20 seasons, he would be on track to take 875 sacks). Here's a look at the five active quarterbacks who have been sacked the most (plus Brett Favre):PlayerNumber of seasonsSacks takenBrett Favre20 (1991-2010)525Tom Brady21 and counting (2000-20)521Ben Roethlisberger17 and counting (2004-20)516 16 and counting (2005-20)468Matt Ryan13 and counting (2008-20)410Ru sell WilsonNine and counting (2012-20)394If you want to check out more NFL records that could be broken this season, .
