BlockFi будет судиться с Сэмом Бэнкманом-Фридом

Криптовалютная кредитная платформа BlockFi, 28 ноября подавшая заявление о банкротстве, подала в суд на бывшего генерального директора биржи FTX Сэма Бэнкмана-Фрида.

По заявлению представителей BlockFi, Сэм Бэнкман-Фрид (Sam Bankman-Fried) использовал акции компании Robinhood в качестве обеспечения для получения кредита. Это действительно возможно ― бывший генеральный директор FTX в мае этого года купил 56.2 млн акций Robinhood за $648 млн. Это 7.6% от общего числа акций компании.

В иске подчеркивается, что принадлежащая Бэнкман-Фриду компания Emergent Fidelity Technologies и компания ED&F Man Capital Markets отказались передать сервису акции Robinhood. Представители BlockFi сообщили, что после перехода компании Emergent в статус дефолта они обратились к ней с требованием передать ценные бумаги, однако акции так и не были переданы.

Отметим, что даже если суд обяжет передать ценные бумаги сервису BlockFi, данных средств может не хватить на погашение долгов. В заявлении на банкротство указано, что BlockFi располагает активами на сумму от $1 млрд до $10 млрд, но и обязательствами в этих же пределах.
